showjump

We hold Indoor and Outdoor Show Jumping competitions throughout the year.

Indoor Unaffiliated Show Jumping
Using one of our two indoor schools, Indoor Show Jumping competitions are usually held on the first Sunday of each month from November to March. See Forthcoming Events for dates. The course is open for Clear Round (fences approx. 2'3" or 0.7m) between 8.15am and 9.15am. Class 1 - Minimus (fences approx. 2'3" or 0.7m) usually starts at 9.30am. Four further classes follow: Class 2 - Novice (fences approx. 2'6" or 0.75m), Class 3 - Intermediate (fences 2'9" or 0.85m), Class 4 - Small Open (fences approx. 3'0" or 0.90m) and Class 5 - Open (fences approx. 3'3" or 1.0m). The competition runs over 2 rounds: round 1 and timed jump off. The timing of each class depends on the number of entries. We can give approximate times on the day before the Show.

Outdoor Unaffiliated Show Jumping
Using our all-weather-surface arena, Outdoor Show Jumping compeitions are usually held on the first Sunday of each month from April to October. Clear Round is followed by five jumping classes. Outdoor competitions are two phase - i.e. the jump off follows the first round immediately.

Affiliated Show Jumping
BSJA Senior Show Jumping competitions use our all-weather-surface outdoor arena, and run monthly between April and September (for specific dates, see forthcoming events). For more details click here.

dressage

We hold Dressage competitions throughout the year.

Indoor Unaffiliated Dressage
We hold Indoor Unaffiliated Dressage competitions on the 3rd Sunday of the month from November to March. There are usually two different tests. A class for each test is run in the morning and the afternoon, resulting in 4 classes. We are able to take approximately 80 entries. If we have more entries than this, further classes may be run in our all-weather-surface outdoor arena.

Outdoor Unaffiliated Dressage
Due to our very full summer calendar, we hold fewer Outdoor Unaffiliated Dressage competitions. However, separate Dressage classes are included in our One Day Event which usually runs in May.

Affiliated British Dressage
Affiliated British Dressage compeitions are run on our all-weather-surface outdoor arena. For more details click here.

crosscountry

We have five different courses: three are British Eventing Cross Country Courses - Novice (fences approx. 3'7"), Pre-Novice (fences approx. 3'3") and Intro (fences approx. 3'0") and are used for our British Eventing Two Day Event which is held in August. Two are riding club courses (fences approx. 2'3" and 2'9") that we use throughout the year. All the Courses are situated within the 130 acres of our property.

We have a mixture of portable and fixed fences. The portable fences are moved between events so you are unlikely to find them in the same position the next time you come. This gives us the ability to vary the course more than if they were all fixed. We build all our own fences to British Eventing standard. Examples include the water complex, steps, banks, house, drop, ditch, palisade, castle, tyres, corner, arrowhead, Normandy bank and many more.

We hold three Hunter Trials each year, as well as a One Day Event which includes separate Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country classes.

Cross Country Schooling

We open the courses the Sunday after each Cross Country day for schooling. Riders do not need to book to use the course. Just turn up on the day and report to the Office to obtain your course ticket.
