We can teach you to ride the correct way and are approved by The British Horse Society and The Association of British Riding Schools.

You can start to learn whether you are young or old as long as you are over 4 years old and under 14 stone!

For the young we have Tots group lessons for 4 to 6 year olds. We require an adult to be present to lead the pony. The teacher instructs the group on the basics. The principle aim is to get the children comfortable around ponies and to foster an interest in horseriding.

For adults, and children of 7 years, we start with half-hour Beginner lessons on a one-to-one basis with an instructor. There is a discount available for beginners when an eight-lesson package is purchased.

Most adults and children are ready to join a one-hour Group lesson after completing approximately eight Beginner's lessons. The Group lessons are sorted by age and ability.

Our horses and ponies are well trained and we don't put you on one that is too big for you. You will ride different horses as this helps you learn faster.

Snowball has its own riding grades which riders work towards. As you learn and pass each grade you will receive a certificate and can also buy a Snowball badge with different colours for each grade.

We welcome prospective clients to come and have a look round and see the horses and facilities we have on offer. Just come to the office when you arrive and we will arrange for a member of staff to show you around. Click here for Map

To start off you will need leggings or something without a seam so that your legs are not rubbed - beware, jeans can rub badly. Footwear should have a small heel. Most trainers and some Wellington boots have a flat sole and are therefore not suitable. We insist that all riders wear current British safety standard riding hats. We can hire you a hat if required. For your first visit and for the Tots group, hat hire is free. If your hair is longer than shoulder length, you should make sure it is tied back securely.

We have our own shop on site. We stock most size hats, children's body protectors as well as a large selection of riding boots, jodhpurs and equipment. Click here for Shop

We try to teach people on a one-to-one basis, but if you have children of approximately the same ability and you want them to learn together this can be arranged. Children and adults being taught together on a regular basis is generally not a good idea, however occasionally this could be arranged dependant on lesson content.

We enhance the basic skills learned in the Beginner and Group lessons, rotating sessions from flat work, to jumping and going on hacks which are off the riding school grounds, through bridle paths, fields and roads.

We have lots of different Activities running throughout the year, including our Own a Pony Day where children take care of a pony for the day, Client Show Jumping and Dressage, Pub Rides and Children's and Adults' Camps. For full details of these and other events see our Activities page.

If you have any questions about any of the above you can send us an e-mail, or if you would like to chat about your requirements please give us a ring and ask for Nikki. Call: 01628 666222
